McIntyre will join Canadian Parapan Am Team for Santiago 2023
Mitch McIntyre of Saskatoon has been announced as part of the Santiago 2023 Canadian Parapan Am team for wheelchair tennis, competing Nov. 17-26.
McIntyre is one of three other returnees to Parapan Am Games, who previously competed in the Lima 2019 Games. He will compete in the Quad event and is making history has being a part of the largest wheelchair tennis team Canada has sent to a multi-sport Games.
Canada’s first Paralympic snowboard medalist, Lisa DeJong, retires
Lisa DeJong, Canadian Paralympic snowboarder from Biggar, SK has made the most of her competitive snowboarding career and will retire knowing her name will be remembered in history.
DeJong joined the NextGen program in the 2020-2021 season and later claimed Canada’s first-ever Paralympic medal in para-snowboard, earning medal a silver in the snowboard cross event while attending the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.

The hockey Rivalry Series is storming Saskatchewan February 2024
Hockey Canada partnered with USA Hockey to bring back the Rivalry Series between Canada’s National Women’s Team and the United States from December to February.
The series will feature seven games played throughout North America, starting in Ontario and ending in Minnesota.
Saskatchewan athletes skate their way to success at Canadian Long Track Championships
Nine Saskatchewan skaters attended the 2023 Canadian Long Track Championships from October 5-8 in Calgary.
The collection of athletes competed in various races and took home the listed rankings:
Men’s
- Graeme Fish placed 3rd in the 5000-metre and 2nd in the 1000-m
- Luca Veeman placed 14th in the 5000-m m, 17th in the 1000-m, 11th in the 1500-m and 1000-m #2 race
- Fergus English placed 19th in the 5000-m and 10th in the 1000-m
- Keagan Waddington placed 20th in the 5000-m
- Bon Lowe placed 21st in the 5000-m, 29th in the 1000-m, 24th in the 1500-m, and 17th in 1000-m #2 race
- Marc-Andre Doyon placed 10th in the 500-m #1 race, 10th in the 1000-m, 8th in the 1500-m and 6th in the 1000-m #2 race
- Daniel Pauli placed 28th in the 500-m Men’s #1 race and 19th in the 500-m Men #2 race
Women’s
- Serena Dallaire placed 24th in the 500-m #1 race, 18th in the 3000-m, 20th in 500-m #2 race, and 21st in the 1500-m
- Ella Cloutier placed 15th in the 1500-m and 20th in the 1000-m #2 race
The event featured Canada’s top skaters and the results will be used to determine which athletes will be selected to represent Canada on the World Cup circuit.
Cote-Williamson announced as part of Team Canada for Parapan Am Games
Brendan Cote-Williamson, who hails from Saskatoon was nominated to represent Canada in Para athletics at the Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games from November 21-25.
Cote-Williamson is one of 10 first-time Parapan Am athletes joining Team Canada for the event.
Yeager and Molleken announced to join Junior National Team’s (U18) Fall Instruction Camp
Marek Yeager from Muenster was announced as part of the 31 athletes invited to attend the Junior National Team’s (U18) Fall Instruction Camp from Oct. 13-21 in the Dominican Republic.
Over the nine days, the team will tour 11 different professional complexes and will take on the Angels, Giants, Cubs, Dodgers, Astros, Padres, Red Sox, Reds, Blue Jays, Cardinals and Pirates.
Former major league player Dustin Molleken (Regina) will attend the camp as a guest coach.
