Canada is NORCECA U19 Boys Continental Champion
Lloydminster’s Lennon Mari and Team Canada are shining in gold after a close match against the United States that saw the Canadians win 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 25-23, 17-15) at the NORCECA U19 Boys Continental Championship in Burnaby, B.C.
The red and white went 3-0 through preliminary play, before sweeping Costa Rica in three straight sets (25-6, 25-12, 25-21) in semifinals.

Four Sask. divers dazzle at Senior National Championships
Four Saskatchewan divers secured their place on the podium while competing at the 2026 Summer Senior National Championships in Toronto, which took place from May 22-24.
Margo Erlam, who trains out of Saskatoon, finished first in the women’s 3-metre event with 319.60 points.
Lila Stewart, of Regina, dove to achieve 242.20 points and gold in the women’s 1-m event.
Meanwhile on the men’s side, Pike Lake’s Rylan Wiens brought home gold with 476.25 points in the 10-m event.
Additionally, Tazman Abramowicz, who hails from Saskatoon, pulled double duty by securing silver in the 3-m event with 423.85 points and bronze with 351.60 points in the 1-m.
Two bronze medals for Sask. at 2026 Senior Pan American Championships
Saskatchewan was represented by three wrestlers at the 2026 Senior Pan American Championships, with two bringing home medals.
Amber Wiebe, of Regina, secured bronze in the women’s 55-kilogram weight class and Swift Current’s Aleah Nickel finished fifth overall in the 72-kg category.
Meanwhile on the men’s side, Saskatoon’s Andrew Johnson added a bronze to Canada’s count in the freestyle 97-kg category.
Harrison receives NCCP Coach Education Grant
Saskatoon’s Michelle Harrison was among the 20 athletes named as recipients of the NCCP Coach Education Grant, which is delivered in partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada.
The grant provides athletes with up to $1,000 to pursue coach education through the National Coaching Certification Program and support their development across Competition–Introduction, Competition–Development and Advanced Coaching Diploma streams.
Heroux honoured with Wheelchair Curling Sport Leadership Award
Curling Canada named Saskatoon-born reporter Devin Heroux, alongside two others as the recipients of the first-ever Wheelchair Curling Sport Leadership Award.
The award was created to honour individuals who have played a meaningful role in the growth and development of wheelchair curling in Canada.
