(April 29, 2026 – Vancouver, BC) The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) welcomes today’s announcement from the Government of Canada and thanks Prime Minister Mark Carney and Secretary of State for Sport Adam van Koeverden for what will be a transformational investment in sport. This financial commitment recognizes the important role high performance sport plays in bringing Canadians together and showcasing our country on the world stage.

This game-changing investment will help strengthen the system that supports athletes as they train and compete at the highest level. Access to performance services – such as sport science, sport medicine, and mental health support – plays a critical role in helping athletes prepare, stay healthy, and perform when it matters most.
