Five Sask. hockey players named to represent Canada at 2025 U17 World Challenge
Hockey Canada announced the 44-player roster who will represent the nation by joining either Team Canada Red or Team Canada White for the 2025 U17 World Challenge, set for November 2-8 in Truro, Nova Scotia.
Regina duo, Liam Pue and Maddox Schultz will join Prince Albert’s Ben Harvey on Team Canada White, while Moose Jaw’s Colt Carter and Prince Albert’s Brock Cripps will represent Team Canada Red.
Both teams will commence preliminary action Nov. 2 before medal games take place on Nov. 8.
Two Sask. teams compete at Home Hardware Curling Pre-Trials
Martensville is well represented at the Home Hardware Pre-Trials in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, with Team Ashley Thevenot and Team Nacy Martin looking to achieve qualifying results.
Team Martin started preliminary action with an 11-7 win over Team Peterson, before falling 9-5 to fellow hometown team, Thevenot.
Meanwhile, Team Thevenot fell 7-2 against Team MacMillan before taking the win over Team Martin.
Results from the Trials will determine final qualifiers for the 2025 Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials, taking placed Nov. 22-30 in Halifax.
Bristol wraps time at World Para Triathlon Championship
Henry Bristol, of Regina, had the top Canadian finish in the junior men’s race at the World Para Triathlon Championship in Wollongong, Australia.
Bristol finished 21st with a time of 56 minutes 46 seconds.
Arthurs represents Canada at 2025 U23 World Wrestling Championships
Judah Arthurs, who hails from Saskatoon, will represent Canada at the 2025 U23 World Wrestling Championships, October 20-27, in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Arthurs will compete in the 92-kilogram freestyle event.
