Hector is new Canadian Standing Champion

Saskatoon’s Thulir Hector was crowned the Canadian Standing Champion in table tennis after an impressive performance at the 2025 Canadian Para Championships, which took place Sept. 27-28 in Mississauga, Ontario.

Hector was the sole female athlete in the standing category and had a close final match going 3-2 (11-7, 10-12, 11-9, 9-11, 11-6) against Pablo Catalan.

She also claimed silver in standing doubles with partner Gabriel Seguin.

Bristol, Lakustiak to represent Canada at World Triathlon Championship Finals

Triathlon Canada named Regina’s Molly Lakustiak and Henry Bristol, in addition to 16 other athletes to represent the nation at the 2025 World Triathlon Championship Finals from Oct. 14-19, in Wollongong, Australia.

Bristol will compete in the junior men’s event, while Lakustiak will compete in the women’s U23 category.

Canada shines in bronze at U18 Men’s Pan American Softball Championship

Saskatoon’s Brett Slusar and Regina’s Kian Poitras joined Canada in their bronze medal win at the U18 Men’s Pan American Championship.

After going 4-1 in round robin action, Canada was set to play Venezuela in a rematch for bronze, in which Canada edged them 7-6 to claim the medal.

Canada’s performance earned them a berth to the 2027 WBSC U18 Men’s Softball World Cup in Czechia.

Team Canada finishes fifth at 2025 Norececa Men Final Six

Team Canada finished in fifth place at the 2025 Norececa Men Final Six volleyball tournament in Puerto Rico.

Prince Albert’s Aden Sinoski and Matt Lefebvre joined Canada in their final games, which ended with four straight losses, wrapping pool play 1-4.

Seymour Team Canada’s video coach for International Para Hockey Cup

Saskatoon’s Dean Seymour will be joining Canada’s National Para Hockey Team as video coach for the International Para Hockey Cup, from Oct. 20-26 in Ostrava, Czechia.
