Three Saskatchewan divers compete at 2025 Canada Cup of Diving
From June 5-8, three Saskatchewan divers attended the 2025 Canada Cup of Diving in Gatineau, Quebec.
Margo Erlam, of Saskatoon, dove to claim three medals, taking home gold in the 3-metre event with 325.50 points as well as in the women’s 3-m synchro, with 282.24 points. In addition, she helped Canada earn silver in the mixed team event with 398.00 points.
Meanwhile, Pike Lake’s Rylan Wiens took home silver in the men’s platform event with 461.05 points and Saskatoon’s Kash Tarasoff finished 10th with 324.15 points.
2025 Canadian Swimming Trials
Looking to earn the opportunity to represent Canada on the world stage, numerous Saskatchewan athletes are in action at the 2025 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials from June 7-12 in Victoria, BC.
Saskatoon-born Blake Tierney claimed gold in the men’s 50-metre backstroke with a 25.23-seconds time and silver in the men’s 100-m backstroke event with a time of 54.28 seconds.
Meanwhile, Ali Diehl, who hails from Saskatoon, won the SB9 100-m breaststroke event with a time of 1:24.44 seconds.

Varga joins Canada on the court
Muenster’s Skyler Varga was named to Team Canada for the Volleyball Nations League, taking place from June 11-15 in Quebec City.
Over the week, Canada will compete against Italy, France, Argentina, Germany and Bulgaria. The full schedule and more details can be found at volleyballworld.com
