Crozon and women’s 3×3 basketball team champions

Only a week following the conclusion of the 2024 Olympic Summer Games in Paris, Humboldt’s Paige Crozon and the Canadian women’s 3×3 basketball team were victorious at the Saskatoon stop of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series, held from August 17-18.

Crozon, joined by teammates Katherine and Michelle Plouffe, as well as Kacie Bosch, dominated their way into finals after defeating Germany 16-6, Puerto Rico 21-11 and Singapore 21-8. They kept their winning streak by defeating Czechia 21-7 in semifinals and Dallas 21-7 in the Series’ championship game.

Canada sits top of the standings as they enter the final stop of the series in Debrecen, Hungary, from August 24-25.

Ramsay to represent Canada at racquetball World Championship

Danielle Ramsay, of Saskatoon, is set to join Team Canada in the women’s singles event at the racquetball World Championships from August 23 – 31 in San Antonio.

Attending athletes will hope to qualify for the 2025 Chengdu World Games at the Championships and results from the team competition will determine which counties qualify a spot.

Tim Landeryou, who also hails from Saskatoon, will be joining Canada as assistant coach.

Renneberg Petro-Canada FACE grant recipient

Ahead of her Paralympic debut in Paris, Saskatoon’s Ashlyn Renneberg was named one of 55 recipients of the Petro-Canada Fuelling Athlete and Coaching Excellence (FACE) grant.

The FACE grant was developed to help provide financial support to athletes in pursuit of their Paralympic and Olympic dreams.
