Wright, Canada’s wheelchair curlers eliminated from Worlds

Moose Jaw’s Marie Wright and teammate Jamie Answeeuw seen their run in Lohja, Finland at the World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship come to an end on May 4, after falling to Denmark in their final round-robin game.

Wright and Answeeuw closed the tournament with a 3-5 record and did not advance to the playoffs.

Softball Canada’s 2022 Women’s National Team Celebration Tour to stop in Saskatchewan

In celebration of a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Canada’s Women’s National Softball Team will travel on a celebration tour, which will include a trio of stops in Saskatchewan with games against Czechia.

The tour will touch down in Melfort at Spruce Haven Ball Park for a double-header on June 29, before making its way to Prince Albert on June 30 at Prime Minster’s Park, before the tour concludes on Canada Day with a second double-header in Saskatoon’sBob Van Impe Stadium.

Olson among Swimming Canada staff for 2022 Commonwealth Games

Saskatoon’s Graham Olson will jet across the Atlantic for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which run July 28 to Aug. 8 in Birmingham, England.

Olson was named as a Video Analyst for the event, after he was a member of Team Canada for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he was in the same role.

Bruny Surin announced as Canada’s Chef de Mission for 2024 Olympics

The Canadian Olympic Committee named Olympic champion Bruny Surin as Team Canada’s Chef de Mission for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Surin won a gold medal in the 4x100m relay for Canada in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He donned the maple leaf at four Olympic Games and was inducted into the Canada Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
