Canada wins opening game of 2026 WXV Global Series

2026 WXV1 Global Series action has just begun for the Canadian women’s rugby 15s team, who opened their time with a 64-26 win over Scotland.

Canada, featuring Regina’s Gabrielle Senft, will now turn their attention to the first of three games against England.  

Canada undefeated at NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship

The national men’s volleyball team has had a strong start at the NORCECA Continental Championship in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Team Canada, which includes Muenster’s Skyler Varga, finished top of Group A with a 3-0 record following their 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20) win over Mexico.

The Canadians will now look to face Cuba in semifinals.

Canada out of IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships

Team Canada wrapped their time at the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships, in Ottawa after falling 65-79 against Poland in the knockout round.

Aberdeen’s Kyrell Sopotyk, as well as Regina duo, Nik Goncin and Garrett Ostepchuk helped Canada finish preliminary play with a 2-1 record.

Saskatoon assistant coach, Jared Sajtos joined the team for their time at the tournament.

Finch to join Canada for WBSC U18 Men’s Softball World Cup

Softball Canada announced Prince Albert’s Willis Finch as part of the 16-player roster selected to represent the nation at the 2027 WBSC U18 Men’s Softball World Cup.

The tournament will take place June 18-26, 2027, in Havlíčkův Brod and Ledenice, Czechia.
