Canada, Senft headed to Women’s Rugby World Cup final
With an impressive 34-19 victory over New Zealand, the defending Women’s Rugby World Cup champion, in the semifinal on Sept. 19, Canada has punched their ticket to the final of the 2025 tournament.
Canada, featuring Regina’s Gabrielle Senft, are currently ranked second in the world and will take on the top-ranked England in for the World Cup trophy on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 9 a.m. SK time on TSN.
Canadian U23 softball team awarded silver medal
The Canadian U23 men’s softball team are returning as from the WSBC Americas Pan American Championships in Argentina. That includes Prince Albert’s Ryan Bicknell, as well as Delisle’s Max Major and Will Major.
Canada wrapped up their preliminary round on a high after defeating Venezuela 5-1 and the United States 4-2 to finish the round robin with a 5-2 record.
The final games of the preliminary round and the playoff round was cancelled due to inclement weather over multiple days, which resulted in Mexico and Argentina receiving gold medals with their 5-1 records and Canada being awarded silver.
