Five athletes, one coach to compete with Softball Canada at U23 Championship

Saskatchewan will have six representatives – five athletes and one coach – on the Softball Canada 2022 U23 Men’s Pan American Championship roster.

Athletes Jordan Hudson (Saskatoon), Troy Kosmynka (Warman), Josh Montana (Regina), James Shirley (Delisle) and Brant Wiebe (Delisle) were all named to the team after last week’s selection camp held in Saskatoon. Melfort’s Dean Holoien is an assistant coach for the team.

The 2022 U23 Men’s Pan American Championship was scheduled for December in Colombia but has been postponed to the spring of 2022 in a yet to be determined location. It serves as a qualifier for the inaugural 2022 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball World Cup scheduled for fall 2022 in Parana, Argentina. The top four finishers from the Pan American Championship – along with the host country of Argentina – will advance to the World Cup.
